Say I’m Sorry

If you are wrong, the best thing to do is apologize immediately. Don’t wait for a better time or until you feel better about it, just do it.

For reasons beyond my knowledge, some people have a very hard time apologizing for mistakes or inappropriate behavior. It is as if the words “I’m sorry” are tainted as a serious failure or weakness.

The truth is that admitting you are wrong about something and apologizing is a sign of good character and should be admired.

Avoid Silence.

Instead of a good resolution, some mistakes are followed with silence, a cold shoulder of sorts. This is never a good thing. The best thing is to work it out immediately. If an apology is in order, there is no time like the present.

Remember that talking is almost always better than silence. Talking can develop an understanding and clear up most problems. Silence just keeps your partner guessing.

This may seem uncomfortable at first but in the long run your relationship will be better because you discussed problems openly and in a reasonable and respectful manner.
