Jealousy Jealousy in a relationship can be an unpleasant thing. Some individuals are jealous of the time their partner spends with friends. Or, they may be jealous of any person who shows attention to a partner. This can adversely affect your relationship. Another area of jealousy involves being jealous of things that your partner accomplishes or receives. For example, if your partner has more financial success or public notoriety than you. Or, perhaps he or she receives more from a family member. These feelings can also cause problems in a relationship. I have known partners who are jealous because their partner starts working much later and can therefore sleep in later in the morning. Instead, a good partner will be happy that he or she gets to sleep a little later. Enjoy your partner’s happiness. A good partner wants the other partner to really enjoy life and is always happy when the partner receives positive treatment in any way. Begrudging your partner anything special because of jealousy or envy is shallow and such negative behavior will almost certainly lead to problems in the relationship.Trust is a critical aspect in a good relationship so if you feel the need to spy on your partner for any reason, your relationship is already in deep trouble. Instead of spying, try asking right out in the open. You likely get the information you want without difficulty. Being in a relationship does not mean giving up your right to privacy and a full life.
